It was an unusual journey that got me to this place, but it was worth every moment of the process. Business lecturer turned body worker, I discovered early on that I've got a passion for helping people and animals discover a better quality of life.
I always believe that every situation is unique and has to be respected for that. And so I adjust my methods to suit the situation, working according to the temperament of the horse, and the nature of their injury and circumstances. I'm never there to simply get the job done, I'm there to make the changes that truly matter. This means listening to your horse and working in a way that keeps them comfortable. Without compromising my standard of getting everything done that needs to be seen to. Balance is an essential part of the work I do and I approach every treatment that way. Even the slightest imbalance or area of tension can have a powerful negative effect on the body. My method is to start where it's needed the most and work out from there - balancing, adjusting and fine tuning as required throughout the entire process. This means it's not unusual for me to cover every area of a horses body during the course of a treatment. From the hooves up, the head back and everything in between. Everyday is an experience in this line of work, and helping owners and horses regain health, confidence and connection is what makes my days so rewarding. |
LadyOur Teacher & FriendTo our very special Kaimanawa mare - Lady, who started us on our journey.
You challenged us, and forced us to find answers, and consistently reminded us that we never stop learning. You were our frustration, my confusion and doubt, through you I pushed myself, I sought, I learnt, and I found. Through it all you taught me, and later rewarded me - you are ultimately my greatest teacher, and remain so. Thank you |
